Tesla sold record 422,875 electric vehicles in Q1 2023

In the first quarter of 2023, Tesla produced over 440,808 vehicles and delivered record 422,875 vehicles, beating its previous single-quarter record.

The company’s sales figures were 36% higher than a year ago, when Tesla produced 305,407 vehicles and delivered 310,048.

The vast majority of Tesla deliveries in Q1, 412,180 units, were its Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, its more affordable mid-range offerings. It delivered 10,695 deliveries of its Model S and Model X vehicles.

For 2023, Tesla previously said it expects to produce 1.8 million cars and implied it intends deliveries around that amount. Company executives said they’re aiming for 50% annual growth on average in production volume and sales over a multiyear horizon.

Tesla will post its financial results for the first quarter of 2023 after market close on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.
