Volkswagen has opened pre-sales for the new ID. Cross with a 37 kWh battery, introducing a more affordable entry-level version of its electric SUV. Starting at €27,995 in Germany for the ID. Cross Trend with an 85 kW (116 PS) motor, the new variant targets urban drivers and commuters looking for an electric vehicle with lower purchase and running costs.
The smaller battery joins the previously announced 52 kWh option and delivers a WLTP driving range of up to 324 km. Buyers can choose between two power outputs, 85 kW (116 PS) and 99 kW (135 PS), along with three equipment levels: Trend, Life and Style.
Designed primarily for city driving and everyday commuting, the Volkswagen ID. Cross with a 37 kWh battery focuses on affordability without sacrificing essential electric vehicle capabilities.
The compact electric SUV supports DC fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 23 minutes as standard, making it suitable for drivers who occasionally need to recharge away from home. Its maximum speed of 160 km/h also provides sufficient performance for motorway journeys.
The smaller battery is intended for drivers whose daily travel needs do not require the longer range offered by the 52 kWh version. By choosing the 37 kWh model, customers can benefit from a lower entry price while retaining the core features and practicality of the ID. Cross.
Volkswagen will offer the ID. Cross with the smaller battery in Trend, Life and Style configurations, allowing buyers to choose between a more affordable setup and additional comfort and technology features.
The entry-level ID. Cross Trend already includes a substantial range of standard equipment. Features include front and rear Park Distance Control and smartphone integration through Volkswagen’s App-Connect system.
The Life and Style trims add further convenience, comfort and technology features. Depending on the selected configuration, the electric SUV can also be equipped with technologies and amenities typically associated with more expensive vehicle classes.
Available options include Connected Travel Assist, which can use networked data to support predictive driving assistance, as well as a premium Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof and electrically adjustable 12-way seats with a massage function.
The smaller battery does not change the Volkswagen ID. Cross’s overall design or interior concept. The electric SUV retains its distinctive, approachable styling, spacious cabin and emphasis on everyday usability.
Volkswagen also highlights the vehicle’s large displays, intuitive controls and comfortable interior, positioning the ID. Cross as a practical choice for drivers who want an electric SUV suited to both urban environments and longer daily commutes.
With multiple power outputs and equipment levels, the 37 kWh version gives customers more flexibility when choosing an electric vehicle based on their budget and driving habits.
Pre-sales for the Volkswagen ID. Cross with a 37 kWh battery have started in Germany. Prices for the entry-level Trend version with an 85 kW (116 PS) electric motor begin at €27,995.
The new battery option expands the ID. Cross lineup beyond the initial 52 kWh version, giving buyers a more accessible entry point into Volkswagen’s electric SUV range.
