Nissan has expanded the lineup of its all-new LEAF in the UK by introducing a more affordable 52kWh battery variant. The new model joins the recently launched 75kWh version, giving buyers a wider choice of range and price while qualifying for the UK Government’s full £3,750 Electric Car Grant.
Priced from £28,849 after the grant, the new LEAF is positioned as one of the UK’s best-value electric vehicles, combining competitive pricing with impressive efficiency and everyday usability.
Up to 280 Miles of Driving Range
The new 52kWh Nissan LEAF delivers a WLTP driving range of up to 280 miles on a single charge, making it well suited for daily commuting as well as longer journeys.
Available in Engage and Advance trims, the new battery option provides a lower-cost entry point into Nissan’s latest-generation electric hatchback without sacrificing the technology and practicality that have made the LEAF one of the world’s most recognizable EVs.
According to Nissan, the model also offers one of the highest miles-per-kWh efficiency ratings available in the UK market, helping drivers maximize range while keeping running costs low.
Aditya Moorthy, Product Manager at Nissan Motor (GB), said the new battery option was designed to deliver confident electric performance, strong value, and the comfort and technology customers expect from the LEAF.
Built in Britain
Production of right-hand-drive models has now begun at Nissan’s Sunderland manufacturing plant, with the first customer deliveries expected later this summer.
The latest-generation LEAF is built in Britain and has been completely redesigned to meet the expectations of modern EV buyers. Alongside its updated styling, Nissan says the new model is its most aerodynamic production vehicle yet, contributing to greater efficiency and improved driving range.
Two Battery Choices
The all-new LEAF is now available with two battery options:
– 52kWh: Up to 280 miles (WLTP)
– 75kWh: Up to 387 miles (WLTP)
Customers can choose from four trim levels—Engage, Engage+, Advance, and Evolve—allowing buyers to select the combination of features and price that best suits their needs.
Depending on the trim level, available equipment includes:
– Google Built-in infotainment
– Panoramic dimming glass roof with LEAF detailing
– Distinctive 3D rear taillights
– Advanced driver assistance technologies
– Fast-charging capability
Continuing the LEAF Legacy
Since launching in 2010 as the world’s first mass-produced electric vehicle, the Nissan LEAF has sold nearly 700,000 units globally. LEAF owners have collectively driven more than 18 billion electric miles, making it one of the most successful EV nameplates ever produced.
Now in its third generation, the latest LEAF builds on that legacy with a completely re-engineered platform, improved efficiency, enhanced technology, and a broader range of battery options aimed at making electric mobility accessible to even more drivers.
