ProLogium and OPmobility Explore Solid-State Battery Integration for Future EVs

ProLogium, a pioneer in solid-state battery research, development, and manufacturing, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with OPmobility, a global leader in sustainable mobility solutions. The agreement lays the groundwork for a potential collaboration focused on integrating ProLogium’s solid-state battery cells into battery modules and packs designed for future electric vehicles.

The partnership aims to address growing demand in the global EV market by developing a complete battery system solution that combines advanced cell technology with scalable automotive integration.

Focus on System-Level EV Battery Solutions

Under the terms of the MoU, the companies will evaluate opportunities to jointly develop and integrate solid-state battery cells into EV battery modules and packs. The goal is to create solutions that can enhance competitiveness for automakers while supporting next-generation electric vehicle platforms.

The initial phase of the collaboration will focus on performance validation. ProLogium will supply solid-state battery cells to OPmobility for electrical testing based on mutually agreed protocols. OPmobility will then take responsibility for designing, developing, and manufacturing battery modules using those cells.

By aligning testing procedures and engineering workflows from the outset, both companies aim to streamline system integration studies, identify technical challenges earlier in the development process, and improve engagement with vehicle manufacturers.

Bringing Cell-Level Performance to Real-World EV Applications

One of the key challenges facing the solid-state battery industry is translating impressive laboratory results into production-ready automotive systems. Through this collaboration, ProLogium and OPmobility intend to evaluate how advanced cell-level performance can be effectively delivered at the module and pack level.

ProLogium’s Superfluidized All Inorganic Solid-State Lithium Ceramic Battery technology features several notable performance metrics, including:

– Volumetric energy density of 900 Wh/L
– Gravimetric energy density of 380 Wh/kg
– Fast charging from 5% to 80% in approximately 6.4 minutes
– Cycle life exceeding 1,200 charge-discharge cycles
– More than 95% performance retention at -20°C

The companies will work together to validate how these advantages translate into integrated EV battery systems that meet automaker requirements for range, charging speed, durability, and cold-weather performance.

Accelerating OEM Adoption

According to ProLogium Founder and CEO Vincent Yang, large-scale adoption of solid-state batteries depends on successful system integration and validation beyond the cell level.

Yang noted that the collaboration begins with practical performance testing and module development, helping establish a clearer pathway toward vehicle integration and OEM-ready battery solutions.

For OPmobility, the partnership supports its strategy of expanding its technology portfolio and strengthening relationships with global automakers.

Youssef Souiba, Executive Vice President and President of OPmobility’s C Power Business Group, said the collaboration with ProLogium reinforces the company’s ability to anticipate future customer needs while contributing to a more efficient and sustainable mobility ecosystem.

Solid-State Batteries Move Closer to Commercial Reality

As automakers continue searching for higher-energy-density batteries that offer faster charging and improved safety, solid-state technology remains one of the industry’s most promising developments. By combining ProLogium’s advanced battery cell expertise with OPmobility’s experience in automotive system integration, the two companies aim to accelerate the path toward commercially viable solid-state battery solutions for future electric vehicles.

While the agreement currently focuses on evaluation and development activities, it represents another important step toward bringing next-generation solid-state battery technology from the laboratory to the road.
