Li Auto Deliveries Hold Steady in April as L9 Livis Launch

Li Auto reported largely stable delivery figures for April 2026, signaling a transitional period as the automaker prepares for a major product launch and accelerates its push into international markets.

Li Auto delivered 34,085 vehicles in April, representing a marginal 0.43% increase compared to 33,939 units in the same period last year. However, deliveries declined 16.97% from March’s total of 41,053 vehicles, reflecting typical pre-launch softness and shifting demand dynamics.

For the first four months of 2026, Li Auto delivered 129,227 vehicles, marking a modest 1.91% year-on-year increase. Cumulative deliveries reached 1,669,442 vehicles by the end of April, underscoring the brand’s growing presence in the competitive EV market.

Notably, April marked the third consecutive month of year-on-year growth, following a prolonged period of declines throughout much of 2025. This suggests that the company may be stabilizing after a challenging phase.

Global Expansion Becomes a Key Growth Driver

With domestic deliveries leveling off, Li Auto is increasingly focused on international expansion to fuel its next phase of growth.

The company recently secured strategic partnerships with dealers in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, paving the way for its L-series extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) to enter the Middle Eastern market.

In parallel, Li Auto is targeting emerging markets in the Asia-Pacific region. Expansion plans include Cambodia, Laos, Macau, and Myanmar, with market entries expected to begin later this month. These regions represent untapped opportunities where demand for electrified vehicles is beginning to accelerate.

L9 Livis Launch Expected to Boost Momentum

A key catalyst for Li Auto’s near-term performance is the launch of its new flagship SUV, the Li L9 Livis.

Unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show on April 24, the L9 Livis is scheduled to officially launch and begin deliveries on May 15. The model carries a pre-sales price of 559,800 yuan (approximately $81,980), positioning it firmly in the premium SUV segment.

The L9 Livis features advanced technology, including two in-house developed 5-nanometer M100 smart driving chips, highlighting Li Auto’s growing focus on autonomous driving capabilities and in-house innovation.

Outlook: Transition Phase Before Potential Growth Acceleration

Li Auto’s flat April performance reflects a company in transition. While short-term delivery figures remain subdued, the combination of a high-profile model launch and aggressive international expansion could provide meaningful upside in the coming months.

As competition intensifies in China’s EV market, Li Auto’s ability to scale globally and deliver compelling new products like the L9 Livis will be critical in determining its trajectory through the rest of 2026.
