Lucid Gravity Gains Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Through OTA Update

Lucid Group is enhancing the ownership experience for its new electric SUV by introducing smartphone integration features that many drivers consider essential. The company announced it will roll out both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the Lucid Gravity through an over-the-air (OTA) software update.

The update arrives as part of the latest version of the Lucid UX software platform and will first reach owners in North America. Customers in Europe and the Middle East are expected to receive the same update later in March.

Lucid UX 3.5 Brings Major Connectivity Upgrade

The new features are included in the Lucid UX 3.5 software package, further expanding the digital capabilities of the Gravity SUV. According to Lucid, the rollout underscores its strategy of continuously improving vehicles through OTA updates rather than requiring dealership visits.

“Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are two of the most sought-after features by our customers,” said Emad Dlala, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Software at Lucid. “We are now providing a seamless connection between mobile devices and the Lucid Gravity.”

Lucid says the integration is designed to deliver a familiar and intuitive interface directly within the vehicle’s advanced cockpit display.

Apple CarPlay Integration

Once the update is installed, drivers can connect their iPhone to the Gravity and access key features of CarPlay directly on the vehicle’s Clearview Cockpit display.

With CarPlay, drivers can:

– Make and receive phone calls
– Access music and streaming apps
– Get turn-by-turn navigation
– Send and receive messages
– Use voice commands with Siri

Both wireless and USB connections are supported, allowing drivers flexibility in how they connect their devices.

Android Auto Support Arrives as Well

Alongside CarPlay, Lucid is also enabling Android smartphone integration through Android Auto.

Android users will be able to access their favorite apps for navigation, media, and messaging on the upper-right portion of the Gravity’s Clearview Cockpit display. As with CarPlay, both wireless and USB connections are supported depending on device compatibility and operating system version.

Enhancing the Lucid Ownership Experience

Lucid says the update reflects its broader commitment to improving its vehicles long after they leave the factory. Over-the-air updates allow the company to deliver new features, performance enhancements, and usability improvements seamlessly.

With the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Lucid Gravity now offers one of the most requested connectivity features among EV buyers—bringing familiar smartphone functionality directly into the vehicle’s digital cockpit.
