Mazda6e Arrives in the UK This Summer with 348-Mile Range and Sub-£40,000 Pricing

Mazda is officially bringing the Mazda6e to the UK this summer, marking the electric rebirth of one of its most successful nameplates. First revealed at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show and already on sale in parts of Europe, the Mazda6e will launch with a single 78kWh battery option, priced from £38,995.

Blending premium saloon styling with the practicality of a five-door hatchback, the Mazda6e positions itself squarely in the competitive D-segment electric sedan market, targeting both private buyers and fleet customers.

Simplified UK Line-Up with 348 Miles of Range

Unlike mainland Europe, where the Mazda6e is offered with two battery choices, the UK market gets a single, optimized 78kWh LFP battery. Mazda says this configuration strikes the best balance between range, performance, durability, and charging speed.

Key performance highlights include:

– Battery: 78kWh LFP
– WLTP range: up to 348 miles (560 km)
– DC fast charging: 10–80% in 24 minutes (195kW)
– Power output: 258 PS
– 0–62 mph: 7.9 seconds
– Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive
– Torque: 290 Nm

This places the Mazda6e competitively against rivals such as the Tesla Model 3, BMW i4, and Polestar 2—while undercutting many on price.

Premium Design Meets Mazda’s Kodo Philosophy

Designed under Mazda’s “Electrifying Design Crafted to Perfection” concept, the Mazda6e evolves the brand’s Kodo – Soul of Motion design language for the EV era.

The result is a sleek, coupe-inspired silhouette with a low roofline, short rear deck, and strong road presence—without sacrificing hatchback practicality.

Notable exterior features include:

– Frameless doors
– 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels
– Illuminated front signature wing with charging status display
– Dynamic lighting animation while charging
– Horizontal rear light bar with Mazda lettering
– Electronically deployable rear spoiler for added stability

The overall design leans premium and modern, clearly distancing the Mazda6e from more conservative fleet-focused EVs.

Light-Filled Cabin with Japanese Minimalism

Inside, the Mazda6e continues its upmarket push. A panoramic glass roof floods the cabin with natural light, while the interior layout is inspired by the Japanese concept of “Ma”—the beauty of space and simplicity.

Both trim levels come generously equipped:

Takumi
– Black or Stone Maztex artificial leather

Takumi Plus
– Tan Nappa leather
– Artificial suede woven fabric seats

Technology highlights include:

– 14.6-inch central touchscreen
– 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster
– Augmented reality head-up display
– Driver-focused cockpit layout

Practicality remains strong, with:

– 336-litre rear boot
– 72-litre front trunk (frunk)
– Ample rear passenger space

Tuned for UK Roads and Drivers

Mazda has placed particular emphasis on driving feel—a traditional brand strength. The suspension, steering, and braking systems were calibrated by Mazda Research Europe in Frankfurt, specifically to suit UK roads and driving preferences.

According to Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda Motors UK, the Mazda6e is a “statement of intent” and a long-awaited model for UK dealers, combining design, technology, and driver engagement in a fully electric package.

Strong Value Proposition for Private and Fleet Buyers

With both trims priced below £40,000, the Mazda6e offers a compelling value proposition, especially given the extensive standard equipment. Mazda is also positioning the model as a key contender in the fleet BEV market, where range, pricing, and driver appeal remain critical factors.

Orders are now open in the UK, with first customer deliveries expected this summer.

Later in 2025, Mazda will expand its EV lineup further with the arrival of the all-new Mazda CX-6e electric SUV, continuing the brand’s multi-solution approach to electrification.
