Kia sets new EV sales record in the US

Kia America achieved both its best-ever October sales, with 68,908 units sold, and best-ever October dealer sales. These records were driven by impressive growth and standout performances across its lineup of electrified vehicles and SUVs.

Sales of Kia’s all-electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid vehicles increased by 70-percent, 65-percent, and 49-percent respectively compared to last year, which helped the brand achieve its highest-ever sales for electrified models in October.

Additionally, SUV sales reached a record high for the month, accounting for 73-percent of total sales, illustrating the ongoing popularity of Kia’s SUV lineup.

Kia’s electric vehicle lineup continues to gain traction in the US market. The EV6, Kia’s first dedicated electric model, set a new October sales record with 1,941 units sold. This brings the total EV6 sales for the year to over 17,700.

The EV9, Kia’s first three-row electric SUV, has also exceeded expectations. Despite its higher price tag, it has already surpassed the EV6 in sales, reaching 17,911 units sold through October.

With its recent production start at the West Point, GA plant, the EV9 is poised to become even more accessible to US consumers, especially with the potential for a full $7,500 federal tax credit next year. Kia is currently offering incentives to match this credit.

Kia is further expanding its electric vehicle offerings with the highly anticipated EV9 GT, promising “enormous power.” The 2025 EV9, starting at $54,900, offers a slight price increase over the 2024 model but promises to deliver even more value and performance.
