Scania to use ABB E-mobility’s EV charging solutions

ABB E-mobility and Scania are taking their collaboration to the next level by signing a new global framework agreement. The agreement enables Scania to become a full solution provider for their EV customers, offering a tailored charging solution together with electric vehicles.

Scania will provide both its own network and its customers with ABB E-mobility‘s DC fast charging technology and solutions, including Terra 360, one of the world’s fastest all-in-one electric vehicle chargers.

“The collaboration with ABB E-mobility enables us to build on the momentum we see for electric transport, and it supports our 2030 goal to annually sell 50 percent electric vehicles. We value the global coverage and local presence of ABB E-mobility as well as their wide portfolio of quality EV charging solutions and service support”, says Fredrik Allard, Head of E-mobility, Scania.

ABB E-mobility will provide Scania with its wide range of DC charging solutions for home depot charging, destination charging and public charging – from 24 kW up to 600 kW. Both companies are committed to enabling a zero-emission transport future and taking the lead in developing tomorrow’s technology today. The framework agreement strengthens the collaboration both locally and globally, reaching Scania customers on their home market.

”We are delighted to help Scania offer their customers a broad range of EV charging solution. With access to the full breadth of our DC charging portfolio, we are ensuring that Scania can recommend the most appropriate solution for every use case, helping their customers successfully transition to electric”, says Chris Nordh, Head of Fleet & Transit Business at ABB E-mobility.

Earlier this year, ABB E-mobility and Scania announced a successful first test in development of a megawatt charging system (MCS). The testing is a milestone in the development of an efficient, high power charging solution for heavy duty vehicles – a new technology that will enable half the charging time for heavy duty vehicles.
