Tesla reported 435,059 deliveries for the Q3 2023

The number of electric vehicles Tesla delivered in the third quarter fell short of expectations, as scheduled downtime at some of its plants shifted future production further into the fourth quarter.

In the third quarter of 2023, Tesla produced over 430,488 vehicles and delivered over 435,059 vehicles globally.

“A sequential decline in volumes was caused by planned downtimes for factory upgrades, as discussed on the most recent earnings call. Our 2023 volume target of around 1.8 million vehicles remains unchanged,” the company said in a statement.

During the previous quarter, Tesla reported record deliveries of 466,140 and total vehicle production of 479,700. During the same period in 2022 Tesla reported total vehicle production of 365,923 and deliveries of 343,830.

The vast majority of Tesla deliveries in Q3, 419,074 units, were its Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, its more affordable mid-range offerings. It delivered 15,985 units of its Model S and Model X vehicles.

The company is about to deliver a refreshed Model 3 in Europe and China.
