Genesis Electrified GV70 Makes North American Debut. Genesis Electrified GV70 to be assembled in the United States at Montgomery, Alabama manufacturing facility.

This week, Genesis held the North American debut of the Electrified GV70 during a special media event in Los Angeles. The Electrified GV70 is the third electric vehicle added to the Genesis lineup and celebrates another step toward a more sustainable future.

Embodying luxury, performance and versatility, Electrified GV70 is the all-electric iteration of the popular GV70 SUV.  This new model features an advanced and refined all-wheel drive dual electric motor powertrain that delivers a powerful 360kW combined output, which in combination with the 77.4kWh battery provides an impressive range of 283 miles (WLTP). Thanks to the use of cutting edge 800-volt architecture, Electrified GV70 requires just 18 minutes to charge from 10 to 80% using a 350kW rapid charger.

The Electrified GV70 also includes a V2L (Vehicle to Load) feature that supports a 3.6kW charge, which is higher than the power supply in the average home, enabling customers to conveniently use electric appliances outside of the vehicle.

Production of the Electrified GV70 is expected to start this December at the brand’s Montgomery, Alabama manufacturing facility. This is the first Genesis model to be built in the United States and the first-ever Genesis production to take place outside of South Korea.

The first public showing of the Electrified GV70 in the U.S. market will take place during the LA Auto Show from Nov. 18-27 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

“The North American debut of the Electrified GV70 and its assembly in Montgomery, Alabama represent a significant milestone for Genesis,” said Claudia Marquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America. “We are pleased for everyone to experience the Electrified GV70 in person at this year’s LA Auto Show.”
