Porsche is recalling approximately 43,000 Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo vehicles from the 2020 to 2021 model years to correct a software fault that could shut the electric drivetrain down.
The fault has occurred on 0.3 per cent of the 43,000 vehicles affected by the recall.
In case of the affected vehicles, there is the possibility that in certain instances a shutdown of the power train, resulting in loss of motive power may be triggered incorrectly and sporadically.
Owners have been invited to visit a Porsche dealership to have the software updated. A workshop appointment that will be free of charge should take place as soon as possible and the software update will take about an hour.
An over-the-air update is not possible as the inverter must be recalibrated afterwards.
