NewMotion Expands In Europe With Arval Partnership

NewMotion, Europe’s largest provider of smart charging solutions for electric vehicles, is expanding further into Europe as a result of the partnership with Arval.

This expansion will allow even more private customers and businesses to get access to its leading European smart charging network. Norway is the first country to benefit from the roll-out of this joint initiative. It is part of NewMotion’s strategy to expand into new markets and consolidate its position as Europe’s largest smart charging provider.

NewMotion’s growing European presence will now include the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany, the UK and Norway. Another 4 European countries are expected to be added from the second quarter of this year. Combined with an open roaming agreement, NewMotion customers already have access to more than 70,000 EV charge points across 25 countries internationally.

To support the larger ambitions of the company three well-respected industry professionals have recently joined the NewMotion management team. New CFO Marit Eshuis, COO Claire Scott and interim CCO Herman Keijsers will help power the company’s goal to be the European frontrunner in the new energy and mobility landscape.  In particular NewMotion will focus on consolidation in existing markets, growth of client base and further expansion into new markets.

In the UK, NewMotion has recently been selected by Southampton City Council to install 30 smart charging points throughout the city as part of the local council’s ‘Clean Air Strategy’ initiative. The decision to install EV charge points follows Southampton’s inclusion on the World Health Organisation’s list of 40 UK cities with damaging levels of air pollution. The charge points are located in five multi-storey car parks throughout Southampton, providing local EV users with reliable access to NewMotion EV charging facilities.

Sytse Zuidema, CEO, NewMotion, commented: “This is an incredibly exciting time for NewMotion.  Our work with Arval leverages our network in Germany, UK and France and has taken us into Norway now and soon we will be adding 4 more European countries to our portfolio. This expansion aligns with our longer term growth plans and demonstrates the huge investment we have already made towards creating innovative, customer-centric smart charging solutions. Electric driving is part of a much bigger revolution and Europe has started to transition to e-mobility. Just look at the increasing EV sales across the European countries. NewMotion sees itself as a key player of this new EV landscape which comes with new ways of dealing with energy and mobility challenges.  Changing consumer behaviour and attitudes is a long term goal and NewMotion is here to make a positive difference.”
