The European plug-in passenger car market was up 41% compared to July of 2016, having registered 19,643 plug-in vehicles.
In terms of year to date in 2017, 154,733 plug-in electric vehicles have been sold, which is up 34% compared with 2016, with the EV share now standing at a record 1.6%.
Last month, the Renault Zoe scored 1,919 registrations, up 68% year over year, beating the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (1,406 units), while the BMW i3 ended the month in third, with 1,277, with all-electric model representing 71% of all BMW i3 sales.
Year to date, the Renault Zoe is in the lead with 18,739 registrations, followed by the Nissan Leaf with 12,189 deliveries and the BMW i3 with 11,501 units.
