There were 1,572 plug-in electric cars registered in Sweden last month, up 17% regarding the same month last year, being the best sales month since last September and pulling the market share to 4.3%.
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was the monthly best-selling car for the first time this year, with 271 deliveries, followed by the VW Passat GTE, with 247 registrations, and the Nissan Leaf, with 123 units.
In the year-to-date ranking, the podium seats remain the same, with the VW Passat GTE leading with 1,989 units, followed by the Outlander PHEV with 1,253 units and Nissan Leaf with 779 deliveries.
On the EV manufacturers ranking, the leader Volkswagen (29%, down 2%) is firm at the leadership, followed from a far by Mitsubishi (15%) in the runner-up place, while BMW (13%) is third.
In the Light Commercial Vehicles (N1) class, registrations were up 45% to 42 units, with the Renault Kangoo ZE outselling once again the Nissan e-NV200, winning by 25 to 1 units in June, with the French model also leading the YTD ranking, with 116 units.
Looking at other alternative fuels, this year CNG passenger cars are down 35% regarding the same period last year, to 1 317 units, while on the fuel cell market, no units were registered last month, with this year registrations stuck at 6 units.
