All major automakers are posting August sales numbers for plug-in electric vehicles.
Nissan LEAF sold 1,393 units, which was less than half of the 3,019 sold a year prior, while GM’s Chevrolet Volt had its second-highest month this year with 1,380 sales in August.

 | Nissan LEAF Sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF totaled 1,393 units, down 56.3% compared to August of 2014 when Nissan sold 3,186 LEAF EV’s. In terms of year-to-date results in 2015, sales of the Nissan LEAF now stand at 12,383, which is down by 34.6% compared with 2014 when 18,941 were sold. Total U.S. Leaf sales are now 84,705. |
 | Chevrolet Volt Chevrolet Volt sold 1,380 units last month, off 45% compared to August of 2014 when 2,511 were sold. Overall for the year, 8,315 Chevrolet Volt plug-ins have been sold. Total U.S. Volt deliveries are now 81,672. |
 | Toyota Prius Plug-in Prius Plug-in Hybrid sold 344 units. Previously in July, Toyota sold a year high 584 Prius PHV units. In terms of year-to-date results in 2015, sales of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid now stand at 3,818. The next generation Prius PHV will come in the second half of 2016 as a 2017 model car. |

 | Cadillac ELR GM sold 45 Cadillac ELRs last month. Previously in July, Cadillac sold 66 ELRs. In terms of year-to-date results in, sales of the Cadillac ELR now stand at 704. The 2014 Cadillac ELR has a starting price of $75,995, including a $995 destination charge but excluding tax, title, license and dealer fees. |
 | Porsche Panamera S-E Hybrid Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrids finished last month with 36 deliveries. Previously in July, Panamera S E-Hybrid sold 23 units. In terms of year-to-date results in 2015, sales of the Panamera S E-Hybrid now stand at 289. |
 | Porsche Cayenne S e-Hybrid Porsche sold 83 Cayenne S E-Hybrid SUVs last month, after selling 77 units in July. The Cayenne S Hybrid has a lithium-ion traction battery with an energy capacity of 10.8 kWh, which enables an all-electric driving range of 11 to 22 miles, combined fuel consumption is 39 mpg US with 79 g/km of CO2. In terms of year-to-date results in 2015, sales of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid now stand at 650. |

 | BMW i3 BMW i3 sold 792 units last month, after selling just 935 units in July. BMW is now offering a new low cost DC fast charger for $6,548 at authorized BMW partners. In terms of year-to-date results in 2015, sales of the BMW i3 now stand at 6,183. |
 | BMW i8 BMW i8 sold 210 plug-in hybrid sports cars last month. BMW sold 217 units in July and 137 units in June. Overall for the year, 1,160 BMW i8 sports cars have been sold. BMW delivered the first plug-in hybrid BMW i8 sport cars at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and auctioned One-of-a-kind BMW i8 Concours d’Elegance Edition for $825,000. The BMW i8 has an MSRP of $135,700 |
 | Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive finished last month with 172 deliveries, after selling 196 units in July. The B-Class Electric Drive starts from $41,450 and has an all-electric range of 87 miles. For an extra $600, one can purchase the extended range package which allows the driver go 104 miles. Overall for the year, 1,540 B-Class Electric Drive have been sold. |
 | Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-in Hybrid Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-in Hybrid sold 10 units in its second month on the market.The S550 Plug-in Hybrid also sold 10 copies in July, its debut month. The Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-in Hybrid offers a system output of 436 hp and 479 lb-ft torque, sprints from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.2 seconds and can drive up to 20 miles purely electrically. |
 | Volkswagen e-Golf Volkswagen e-Gold sold record 381 units last month, after selling 313 units in July. Overall for the year, 2,212 VW e-Golf EVs have been sold. The all-electric 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf is on sale at participating dealerships in select states. The e-Golf was rated by the EPA at126 city, 105 highway, and 116 combined MPGe and given a range of up to 83 miles. |
 | Kia Soul EV Kia Soul EV sold 93 units last month, after selling 59 units in July. Overall for the year, 622 Soul EVs have been sold. However, eligible California residents may be able to purchase the 2013 Fiat 500e for as low as $20,500, after federal credits. |

 | Mitsubishi i Mitsubishi sold 6 i-MiEV electric cars in July, after selling 12 units in July. In terms of year-to-date results in 2015, sales of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV now stand at 90. The 2016 Mitsubishi i-MiEV will arrive at Mitsubishi dealers across the United States in late March 2015. With a starting MSRP of only $22,995, the 2016 i-MiEV is the most affordably-priced electric vehicle available in America today, and after factoring in the Federal tax credit of $7,500, the net starting MSRP is reduced to $15,495. |
