Kia Soul EV Wins Another Award

Kia’s first all-electric car, the Soul EV, has been awarded Best Small Family Car by AutoVolt in its annual awards.

The Soul EV finished ahead of competing finalists to win the award which included the Nissan LEAF and the Volkswagon e-Golf.

Chosen by AutoVolt’s editorial team, the Soul EV’s flexibility, practicality and class-beating range were cited as just some of the car’s class-leading attributes.

Jonathan Musk, Founder and Editor of AutoVolt said: “Kia’s Soul EV is a fantastic car that comes highly recommended. If you’re considering an electric car but are anxious about the myths, Kia have the best answer for you at the moment. The Soul EV is a near no compromise car, which is a great entry into the world of electric motoring. The seven year warranty offers fantastic peace of mind and the electric range is class leading; it actually does the 132 miles it says it will.”

Steve Kitson, Kia Motors (UK) Ltd Director of Corporate Communications, added: “Our first dedicated electric car has to be both efficient and easy to use, which is why we utilised our quirky Soul city car to bring this technology to the market-place. Soul has long been popular with urban drivers and as the Soul EV builds up a strong customer base we believe more and more city-focused motorists will see the sense behind going electric. Clearly we are delighted that AutoVolt have given the Soul EV this award and recognise just how capable it is of delivering great every-day and emission-free motoring.”

The Kia Soul EV has been on sale since the latter half of 2014 and it is Kia’s first battery-electric vehicle to be sold globally.  It offers a range of class leading capability figures, including a range of 132 miles and battery energy density of 200 Wh/kg, plus the same fun styling and practical interior as the combustion-engined Soul.
