Turkish designer Haken Gursu has created the V-Tent, a solar panel canopy, which is charging and protecting your electric car at the same time.
The V-Tent offers plenty of benefits for your electric car either at home or in city.
Functioning as a canopy that prevents weather side-effects such as sun heat or snow, design protects electric car physically from environmental conditions.
In its public use, V-Tent is designed as a space-saving parking space that runs for a fee. With a simple interface, users can select the amount of time and pay by card.[wzslider height=”400″ lightbox=”true”]Being informed with an estimated charging time, drivers can access the system interface remotely via smartphone applications. A band light on the V-Tent indicates availability and charge percentage with color and length. Designed with a flexible solar panel, the V-Tent’s collapsible structure enables it to appear only when it is in use, preventing visual complexity.
The material used for the V-Tent canopy is a laminated multi-layered textile that holds flexible solar panels.
The V-Tent features small ventilation tubes beneath the solar panels. As well as your electric car being in the shade beneath the tent, these insulate it from the hotter surface above. A reflective layer below these further protects your electric car.
In addition to charging cars, energy that is generated from the V-Tent can be used in urban applications such as lighting.
