Michelin EV Charge Connects 1.2 Million Charging Points for European Fleets

Michelin Connected Fleet has launched MICHELIN EV Charge, a new charging solution designed to simplify public charging and improve cost control for electric vehicle fleets across Europe. Developed in collaboration with Deftpower, the service combines access to more than 1.2 million charging points with billing and vehicle telematics data through a single platform.

The solution is integrated into Michelin Connected Fleet’s MyConnectedFleet platform, helping businesses streamline charging operations, monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of their electric fleets.

MICHELIN EV Charge gives fleet drivers access to more than 1.2 million public charging points across Europe through a dedicated mobile app and charging card. Drivers can locate available stations, plan journeys and select suitable charging options without having to manage multiple charging services separately.

The launch addresses a growing challenge for businesses transitioning to electric mobility. Different charging networks often have their own access systems, tariffs and billing arrangements, making public charging more complicated for drivers and fleet managers alike.

According to the 2026 Arval Mobility Observatory Barometer, 57% of surveyed fleets already include electric vehicles, while a further 19% plan to adopt them within the next three years.

As electric vehicles become more common in corporate fleets, simplifying charging access and controlling energy costs are increasingly important for businesses operating across multiple networks.

Beyond charging access, MICHELIN EV Charge focuses on giving fleet managers better visibility into how vehicles are used and where charging costs can be reduced.

The service automatically combines charging data with vehicle telematics information collected through MyConnectedFleet. This creates a consolidated overview of journeys, energy consumption, charging status and charging behaviour.

By analysing this information, businesses can identify expensive charging sessions and inefficient practices, allowing them to make more informed decisions about when and where vehicles should charge.

Michelin also highlights transparent pricing without additional network fees and, in certain cases, negotiated tariffs. These features are intended to help companies manage public charging expenditure more effectively across different providers.

The additional data can support fleet managers in identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving charging strategies, potentially reducing the overall operating costs of electric vehicles.

MICHELIN EV Charge is powered by Deftpower’s MSP 2.0 platform, which provides the technical infrastructure for charging access, billing and analysis.

The Dutch company develops white-label charging solutions for mobility service providers, allowing businesses to offer charging services under their own brands.

Deftpower also works on intelligent charging technology designed to align charging sessions with vehicle energy requirements and periods when electricity is cheaper or demand on the grid is lower. This approach can help reduce charging costs, although the savings depend on the charging setup, electricity tariffs and operational requirements.

The partnership brings Deftpower’s charging technology into Michelin Connected Fleet’s existing fleet management ecosystem, combining public charging access with vehicle usage data and cost analysis.

Jacob van Zonneveld, CEO of Deftpower, said the goal is to make fleet electrification less complicated while helping businesses achieve more transparent charging costs. He also highlighted the partnership as an opportunity to support the wider adoption of electric vehicles across Europe.

MICHELIN EV Charge complements Michelin Connected Fleet’s existing electrification services. Through MyConnectedFleet, companies can already assess which vehicles are suitable for electrification based on real-world usage patterns, as well as monitor battery levels and driving range.

The new charging solution extends these capabilities by adding greater visibility into public charging activity and its associated costs.

“By aggregating charging data with fleet vehicle data, we give companies a more detailed insight into vehicle usage and actionable solutions for bringing energy costs down,” said Sophie Foucque, CEO of Michelin Connected Fleet.

The company sees the integration of charging and fleet data as a way to help businesses balance operational efficiency with cost control as they transition to electric mobility.

Michelin has also expanded its activities through Watèa by Michelin, which offers electrification solutions for commercial cars and light commercial vehicles, including vehicles, infrastructure and related services.
