Kia Expands Electric Car Grant Lineup with EV3 and New EV4 Motion

Kia has expanded its UK electric vehicle lineup eligible for the Government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG), adding the highly popular EV3 and introducing a new EV4 ‘Motion’ trim.

The move lowers entry prices across key models and strengthens Kia’s position in the competitive EV market.

Kia EV3 Now Eligible for Electric Car Grant

The Kia EV3 is now available with the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant, reducing prices by £1,500 for both ‘Air’ and ‘GT-Line’ trims.

With the grant applied:

– EV3 ‘Air’ Standard Range (58.3kWh) starts at £31,555
– EV3 ‘Air’ Long Range (81.4kWh) starts at £34,555

Since its launch in late 2024, the EV3 has quickly become Kia’s fastest-selling electric model. It has also collected major accolades, including 2025 UK Car of the Year and 2025 World Car of the Year, reinforcing its global appeal.

The EV3 lineup currently includes ‘Air’, ‘GT-Line’, and ‘GT-Line S’ trims, with a dual-motor AWD ‘GT’ performance variant expected later in 2026.

New Kia EV4 ‘Motion’ Trim Adds Value and Features

Kia is also expanding the Kia EV4 lineup with a new ‘Motion’ Special Edition. Positioned between ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’, the EV4 ‘Motion’ delivers a high level of equipment while qualifying for the £1,500 grant.

Key features include:

– Harman Kardon premium sound system (8 speakers)
– Cloth and artificial leather upholstery
– Heated outer rear seats
– Surround View Monitor
– Blind-Spot View Monitor
– Electric Driver’s Seat and Lumbar Support

The EV4 ‘Motion’ is powered by a 201bhp front-mounted motor paired with an 81.4kWh battery. It is available exclusively as a five-door hatchback and manufactured in Slovakia.

Pricing starts at £38,995 on-the-road, including the grant, with full specifications and range figures to be confirmed.

Updated Kia EV Pricing with Electric Car Grant

Kia now offers multiple EVs under the ECG scheme, improving affordability across its range:

Kia EV3

– ‘Air’ SR (58.3kWh): £31,555
– ‘Air’ LR (81.4kWh): £34,555
– ‘GT-Line’ LR (81.4kWh): £37,995

Kia EV4

– ‘Air’ SR (58.3kWh): £33,245
– ‘Air’ LR (81.4kWh): £35,495
– ‘Motion’ LR (81.4kWh): £38,995

Kia PV5 Passenger

– ‘Essential’ SR (51.5kWh): £31,495
– ‘Essential’ LR (71.2kWh): £34,495
– ‘Plus’ LR (71.2kWh): £36,795

Kia Strengthens Its Electric Strategy

With the addition of the EV3 and EV4 ‘Motion’, Kia now offers three models under the Electric Car Grant, including the PV5 Passenger. This expansion supports both private buyers and fleet customers transitioning to electric mobility.

The UK Government’s ECG applies only to vehicles meeting strict environmental and sustainability criteria, including compliance with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) standards for emissions reduction.

Looking ahead, Kia plans to launch 15 fully electric models by 2030 and transition all manufacturing sites to 100% renewable energy by 2040. The brand is also targeting full carbon neutrality across its vehicle lifecycle by 2045.
