XPeng and NIO March 2026 Deliveries Surge as Global EV Expansion Accelerates

China’s smart electric vehicle makers XPeng and NIO have kicked off 2026 with impressive delivery figures, reinforcing the rapid growth of the global EV market and intensifying competition among leading automakers.

XPeng Sees Sharp Month-Over-Month Growth

XPeng delivered 27,415 vehicles in March 2026, marking a significant 80% increase compared to February. This strong performance contributed to a first-quarter total of 62,682 vehicles, signaling steady momentum as the company scales production and demand.

Beyond deliveries, XPeng is accelerating its global ambitions. On March 25, the company unveiled a three-year expansion strategy for Latin America, officially entering the Mexican market. The plan includes launching both battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and range-extended electric vehicles (REEVs) by 2027, with a clear objective of becoming a regional leader by 2028.

This move highlights XPeng’s broader strategy to diversify geographically and tap into emerging EV markets with high growth potential.

NIO Delivers Record Q1 Performance

Meanwhile, NIO reported even stronger figures, delivering 35,486 vehicles in March 2026, representing a 136% year-over-year increase.

The March deliveries were split across its multi-brand portfolio:

– 22,490 vehicles from the premium NIO brand
– 6,877 vehicles from the family-focused ONVO brand
– 6,119 vehicles from the compact premium FIREFLY brand

For the first quarter, NIO delivered 83,465 vehicles, up 98.3% year-over-year, pushing cumulative deliveries past 1.08 million vehicles.

A key contributor to NIO’s growth is the NIO ES8. The all-new ES8 recently reached its 80,000th delivery in just 181 days, a milestone that underscores strong consumer demand.

The flagship SUV has also secured the top position in China’s large SUV segment for three consecutive months, outperforming competitors across all powertrain types and price categories. Its continued success reflects NIO’s strength in the premium EV space and its ability to sustain demand through differentiated technology and user-focused features.

EV Market Growth Shows No Signs of Slowing

The latest delivery results from XPeng and NIO point to a broader trend: global EV adoption continues to accelerate in 2026. While XPeng is focusing on international expansion, particularly in Latin America, NIO is leveraging its diversified brand strategy and strong domestic demand to scale rapidly.

As competition intensifies and new markets open up, both companies are well-positioned to play a major role in shaping the next phase of electric mobility.

With strong quarterly performances and ambitious growth strategies, XPeng and NIO are setting the pace for what could be another record-breaking year for the EV industry.
