XPENG and NIO Report Strong July 2026 Electric Vehicle Sales

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers XPENG and NIO both reported solid delivery results for July 2026, with each company surpassing the milestone of 1.2 million cumulative vehicle deliveries while continuing to expand their global presence and product portfolios.

XPENG delivered 38,027 electric vehicles in July, representing a 4% year-over-year increase. Meanwhile, NIO delivered 35,934 vehicles, posting a significantly stronger 71% year-over-year growth, reflecting increasing demand across its expanding multi-brand lineup.

As of July 31, both automakers have now delivered more than 1.2 million vehicles worldwide, highlighting the rapid growth of China’s leading EV manufacturers in both domestic and international markets.

XPENG Accelerates Global Expansion

XPENG continues to push aggressively into overseas markets. During its Brand Day and L03 Global Launch Event held in Munich, Germany, on July 16, the company introduced the new XPENG L03, which is scheduled to launch across 65 countries and regions before the end of the year.

The automaker also outlined its long-term strategy for Australia, confirming plans to introduce five all-new models during the second half of 2026 while continuing to expand its local sales and after-sales service network.

Looking ahead, XPENG announced that its Next Generation Pilot (NGP) intelligent driving system, powered by its in-house developed VLA 2.0 AI model, is expected to begin a global rollout in 2027, bringing the company’s advanced driver assistance technology to more international markets.

Beyond sales growth, XPENG highlighted the environmental impact of its expanding EV fleet. The company estimates that vehicles delivered between January and July 2026 will reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by more than 3.23 million tons compared with equivalent internal combustion engine vehicles. According to XPENG, that reduction is comparable to the amount of carbon absorbed by approximately 53.75 million young trees over a 10-year period.

NIO Posts 71% Growth in July Deliveries

NIO continued its strong momentum in July, delivering 35,934 vehicles, a 71% increase from the same month last year.

The July deliveries included:

– 20,008 vehicles under the NIO premium brand
– 10,155 vehicles from the ONVO brand
– 5,771 vehicles from the FIREFLY brand

The results demonstrate the success of NIO’s multi-brand strategy, allowing the company to target a broader range of EV buyers across different market segments.

NIO also celebrated an important production milestone for its flagship SUV lineup. On July 22, the All-New ES8 surpassed 130,000 cumulative deliveries, achieving the milestone just 305 days after its launch in late September 2025.

Earlier in the month, NIO began customer deliveries of the All-New ES8 Five-Seat Version, complementing the existing six- and seven-seat models. The expanded lineup strengthens the company’s position in both the premium large SUV and premium three-row electric SUV segments while offering customers greater flexibility.

China’s EV Leaders Continue Global Growth

July’s delivery results underline the continued momentum of China’s leading electric vehicle manufacturers despite intensifying competition in the global EV market.

While XPENG is focusing on accelerating international expansion and deploying next-generation AI-powered driving technologies, NIO is leveraging its growing portfolio of brands and expanding premium SUV lineup to drive rapid sales growth.

With both companies now exceeding 1.2 million cumulative vehicle deliveries, XPENG and NIO remain among the most influential players shaping the future of the global electric vehicle industry as they continue expanding into new international markets.
