Range Rover GT Revealed as Brand’s First All-Electric Luxury Grand Tourer

Range Rover has officially confirmed the arrival of the Range Rover GT, introducing a fifth member to its luxury lineup and marking an important milestone in the brand’s electrification strategy.

The new model blends grand touring comfort with Range Rover’s renowned all-terrain capability, while becoming the first all-electric Range Rover built on the company’s new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform.

Ahead of its official debut later this year, the automaker has provided an early look inside the cabin and shared new details about the vehicle’s development.

A Minimalist Cabin Designed Around Comfort

The interior of the Range Rover GT follows the same clean, minimalist philosophy that shapes its exterior. Every element has been designed to create a calm, refined environment with fewer visual distractions and a stronger focus on usability.

A newly developed single-screen infotainment system is paired with a dedicated driver display, replacing the traditional instrument cluster with a more modern digital layout. The dashboard features a full-width concealed air vent that creates a distinctive horizontal design line, a signature styling cue found across the Range Rover family.

Premium materials also play a central role in the cabin. A woven textile wraps seamlessly across the dashboard, hiding the speakers beneath its surface while contributing to a cleaner overall appearance. The result is a more architectural interior that emphasizes both craftsmanship and technology.

Range Rover says the cabin has been engineered to reduce visual and acoustic clutter while allowing occupants to access more vehicle functions through intuitive digital controls.

First Electric Range Rover on the EMA Platform

The Range Rover GT will be the first production model based on Jaguar Land Rover’s new EMA platform, which has been specifically developed for next-generation electrified vehicles.

Production will take place at the company’s Halewood manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom, where electric, hybrid and internal combustion models will be built alongside one another.

At launch, the Range Rover GT will be offered exclusively as a battery-electric vehicle (BEV). The company also confirmed that the platform has been designed with future flexibility in mind, allowing hybrid powertrains to be introduced later in the model’s lifecycle.

Blending Grand Touring Performance with Off-Road Capability

According to Range Rover, the GT has been developed to redefine the luxury grand touring segment by combining long-distance comfort with capabilities rarely found in traditional GT vehicles.

Martin Limpert, Managing Director of Range Rover, said the new model delivers “beautiful and engaging GT poise” while remaining unmistakably capable. He added that years of development have resulted in the brand’s most car-like driving experience yet, without compromising the refinement, all-terrain performance and premium character expected from a Range Rover.

The electric powertrain is also expected to deliver smooth performance, quiet operation and the long-distance comfort that grand touring customers demand.

Final Testing Underway

Prototype vehicles are currently completing final on-road testing before the official reveal.

The development fleet wears a distinctive camouflage wrap created by Range Rover’s in-house design team. Inspired by the landscapes surrounding Gaydon, home to the company’s design and engineering operations, the wrap features flowing gold topographic lines that symbolize both the vehicle’s grand touring mission and the advanced technologies beneath the surface.

According to the company, the digital-inspired camouflage reflects the sophisticated technology integrated throughout the new model.

More Details Coming Soon

The Range Rover GT represents another major step in the brand’s transition toward electrification, expanding its lineup with a luxury electric grand tourer that promises premium refinement, advanced technology and genuine all-terrain capability.

Range Rover is expected to reveal additional technical specifications, performance figures, battery details and pricing later this year. Until then, the Range Rover GT offers an early glimpse of what the future of the iconic luxury brand will look like.
