Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech Electric Debuts with Sport-Chic Styling and AR Experience

Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric has been unveiled ahead of its global debut on May 18 at the Porte d’Auteuil stadium, aligning with the 2026 Roland-Garros French Open.

The show car reflects Renault’s growing push into stylish, accessible electric mobility while celebrating its long-standing partnership with the iconic tennis tournament.

Sport-Chic Design Inspired by Roland-Garros

The Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric adopts a distinctive “sport-chic” identity. Finished in Glacier White, the exterior contrasts with black side pillars and roof arches, while subtle silver accents on the front wings incorporate the Roland-Garros emblem.

The design is further elevated by 18-inch “Parisienne” diamond-cut wheels with a smoked finish and Terracotta Brown detailing, echoed on the bumper trims. The result is a refined yet athletic aesthetic that aligns closely with the French Open’s premium image.

Based on the Plein Sud variant, the show car features a large electric-powered black canvas roof. Measuring up to 92 cm in length and 80 cm in width, the opening floods the cabin with natural light, enhancing the open-air driving experience.

Interior Blends Sustainability with Premium Touches

Inside, the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric emphasizes sustainability and detail. The light grey upholstery is made entirely from recycled materials, with a technical weave inspired by performance sportswear. Blue textile accents and heat-embossed Roland-Garros logos add a premium feel.

The cabin includes thoughtful design elements such as:

– A tennis racket-inspired gear selector
– A clay-colored wireless charging pad
– Brushed aluminium door sills with Roland-Garros branding

The dashboard features an anodised metal strip with backlighting that displays “Roland Garros Paris,” reinforcing the car’s connection to the tournament.

Augmented Reality Reveal via Renault App

Renault is extending the reveal beyond the show floor through an augmented reality feature available in the Hello Renault app. Users can place a virtual version of the vehicle in real-world environments, explore different color options, and view both interior and exterior details from any angle.

This digital-first approach reflects a broader trend among automakers to integrate immersive experiences into product launches.

Production Timeline Confirmed for 2026

While currently a show car, Renault has confirmed that a production version of the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric will arrive in autumn 2026. It is expected to build on the brand’s growing electric portfolio and target urban drivers seeking compact, design-focused EVs.

Renault Expands Electric Presence at Roland-Garros

Alongside the Renault 4 concept, the brand is showcasing several production-ready electric models. The Renault 5 E-Tech electric takes center stage with a dedicated Roland-Garros version, offering a 52 kWh battery and up to 252 miles (WLTP) of range.

Meanwhile, the Renault Twingo E-Tech electric is being displayed in its Techno trim, signaling its rollout across European dealerships. Positioned as an affordable A-segment EV, the Twingo aims to bring electric mobility into the mainstream.

Electrified Fleet and Autonomous Mobility Trials

Renault’s presence at Roland-Garros extends beyond product showcases. As the tournament’s official transport provider, the company is deploying a fleet that is 88% electrified, including models such as the Scenic E-Tech electric and hybrid variants like the Rafale and Espace.

In partnership with WeRide, Renault is also continuing trials of autonomous electric minibuses. These shuttles will transport spectators between key locations, highlighting the brand’s ongoing investment in next-generation mobility solutions.

A Strategic Blend of Heritage and Innovation

The Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric show car combines heritage-inspired design with modern electric technology and digital innovation. With its production version set for 2026, the model underscores Renault’s ambition to make EVs more appealing, accessible, and integrated into everyday life.
