Kia has expanded its growing electric lineup in the UK with the new EV2 now officially qualifying for government support under the Electric Car Grant (ECG).
The move strengthens the brand’s position in the affordable EV segment while making its newest compact SUV even more accessible to buyers.
£1,500 Grant Now Available for EV2 First Edition
The Kia EV2 ‘First Edition’ is now eligible for the UK Government’s £1,500 Electric Car Grant, replacing the previously offered reservation saving of the same value. This incentive applies to both retail and fleet customers, effectively lowering the entry price of the model.
With the grant applied, the EV2 ‘First Edition’ drops from £28,495 to £26,995 on-the-road, improving its competitiveness in the compact electric SUV market.
Meanwhile, higher trims—including ‘Air’, ‘GT-Line’, and ‘GT-Line S’—continue to benefit from a separate £3,750 reservation saving, with potential ECG eligibility expected to be confirmed later.
Expanding List of Kia EVs with Government Support
The EV2 joins a growing list of Kia electric models that qualify for the ECG. Recent additions include the EV3 ‘Air’ and ‘GT-Line’, along with the EV4 ‘Motion’, all receiving the Tier 2 £1,500 incentive.
These models now sit alongside earlier qualifying variants such as the EV4 ‘Air’ and the PV5 Passenger ‘Essential’ and ‘Plus’, highlighting Kia’s broader push to make electric mobility more attainable in the UK.
