DAF Expands Its Electric Truck Lineup with the Ultra-Spacious XG and XG⁺ Electric

DAF is introducing the introduction of the XG and XG⁺ Electric, expanding its already successful zero-emission lineup. Built on the same proven foundation as the XD and XF Electric—recently crowned “International Truck of the Year 2026”—the new models combine refined electric powertrains, advanced LFP battery technology, and outstanding driver comfort. What truly sets them apart, however, is their class-leading cabin space, the largest currently available on the market.

DAF’s fully electric portfolio is designed to cover virtually every transport application. The range includes:

– XB Electric (12, 16, and 19 tonnes) for urban distribution
– XD Electric for urban and regional operations
– XF Electric for long-haul transport

With the arrival of the XG and XG⁺ Electric, DAF raises the bar even further—especially when it comes to driver comfort and long-distance usability.

Unmatched Cabin Space and Comfort

The cabs of the XG and XG⁺ Electric are 33 centimetres longer than the already spacious XF cab. Combined with additional height, this creates an exceptional working, living, and sleeping environment with a total interior volume of 12.5 m³ and a standing height of up to 2.2 metres.

The sleeping area is equally impressive, featuring beds that are 80 centimetres wide along their entire length. In terms of comfort, space, and usability, these new electric trucks set a standard that competitors simply cannot match.

Powerful and Smooth Electric Performance

Powering the XG and XG⁺ Electric is the PACCAR EX-D2 electric motor, delivering outputs between 270 and 350 kW (370–480 hp) and a massive 2,400 Nm of torque.

The compact powertrain combines two electric motors with an integrated three-speed transmission, ensuring smooth gear changes, quiet operation, and effortless performance—ideal for both regional and international routes.

Long Range and Rapid Charging

Depending on the application, the XG and XG⁺ Electric can be equipped with three to five modular battery packs, mounted flexibly on the chassis. With the maximum five-pack configuration, these trucks can achieve over 500 kilometres of zero-emission range on a single charge.

With smart route and charging planning, it’s possible to cover more than 1,000 fully electric kilometres per day, making the XG and XG⁺ Electric a realistic solution for international transport.

This impressive efficiency is driven by the highly optimized PACCAR EX-D2 powertrain, DAF’s intelligent battery management system, and excellent aerodynamics. The streamlined cab design, curved windscreen, side skirts, deflectors, fenders, and digital camera mirrors all work together to minimize air resistance.

Advanced LFP Battery Technology

Like all DAF electric vehicles, the XG and XG⁺ Electric use the latest generation of LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries, backed by an eight-year warranty. These batteries are cobalt- and nickel-free, offer high thermal stability, and can be charged daily to 100% without reducing lifespan.

With a three-battery configuration, charging from 10% to 80% takes just over 45 minutes, ensuring minimal downtime.

A Complete Electric Ecosystem

DAF supports the XG and XG⁺ Electric with a comprehensive suite of services, including:

– Smart charging stations and energy storage solutions from PACCAR Power Solutions
– Tailor-made maintenance contracts via DAF MultiSupport
– Advanced online fleet management through PACCAR Connect
– Flexible financing options from PACCAR Financial

Configurations and Availability

The new XG and XG⁺ Electric are available as a 4×2 tractor and a 6×2 rigid chassis with a steered trailing axle. Regardless of configuration, these models combine a powerful electric drivetrain with unmatched interior space and premium driver comfort—setting a new benchmark for electric heavy-duty transport.
