Chinese premium electric vehicle maker NIO officially unveiled its third brand, Firefly, along with its first product sharing the same name.
Positioned in the boutique compact car market, firefly aims to further expand NIO’s product portfolio and leverage existing sales channels to drive growth efficiently.
According to NIO, Firefly will exceed user expectations in design, safety, space, intelligence, and energy efficiency, ushering in a new era of smart electric vehicles for the global compact car market. ‘Firefly is to NIO a symbol of innovation and sophistication in a smaller package.’
The Firefly brand will be officially launched at NIO Day 2024 on December 21, and its first model is set for delivery in the first half of 2025.
NIO’s current brand lineup includes its namesake premium brand and ONVO, which was launched earlier this year.
While both ONVO and Firefly brands are part of the company’s strategy to penetrate lower-priced segments of the electric vehicle market, Firefly focuses on affordability and compact designs, whereas ONVO targets a higher price point with SUV offerings and advanced technology features.
