Lucid Motors will adopt Tesla’s NACS in 2025. Lucid customers will be able to access 15,000+ Tesla Superchargers in North America in 2025.

Lucid Group announced that all Lucid vehicles built with the current Combined Charging System (CCS) will be able to access the Tesla Supercharger network by using an adapter in 2025.

In addition, the electric vehicle startup will adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) for the charging ports of its battery electric vehicles to be launched in North America beginning in 2025.

By switching to NACS, Lucid owners will have access to over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers in North America, making it easier to find a charging station for their EV that’s nearby.

“Adopting NACS is an important next step to providing our customers with expanded access to reliable and convenient charging solutions for their Lucid vehicles,” said Peter Rawlinson, CEO and CTO at Lucid. “We believe that a unified charging standard, backed by the nationwide rollout of future-ready higher-voltage charging stations, will be a critical step in empowering American consumers to adopt electric vehicles.”

Tesla’s NACS hardware has been adopted by Subaru, Toyota Motor North America, BMW, Kia, Hyundai, Jaguar, Honda, Fisker, Ford, GM, Volvo, Polestar, Nissan and Rivian. Now, Volkswagen and Stellantis are the only remaining automakers for adopting Tesla’s charging hardware.

Lucid currently only sells one EV model, the Air, in several trim options, including a new three-motor Sapphire version.

The company’s second model, the Gravity SUV, is set to be unveiled to the later this year, with deliveries expected to commence in 2024.
