Polestar 2 production hits 100,000 units. Polestar 2 went from 0-100,000 in only 2.5 years.

The 100,000th Polestar 2 was recently produced in Luqiao, China. The car in question is destined for a customer in Ireland, one of the newest Polestar markets, and will feature unique door markings to celebrate the accomplishment.

“It’s an amazing achievement – especially given we launched the Polestar 2 during the pandemic. Thank you to the team and all our customers who have joined us on this exciting journey,” says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO.

Polestar 2 has been continuously upgraded since it was first delivered in July 2020. With remote over-the-air (OTA) updates, various elements, including extending real-world range, increasing charging speed, an eco climate function and battery preconditioning optimisation, have been added to the cars. Even the first Polestar 2 to ever roll through the factory gates is as cutting edge as today’s models.

The fully electric Polestar 2 does more than offer a world-class driving experience. When charged with clean energy, it contributes less than half of the greenhouse gases over its lifecycle, compared to its fossil alternative, which makes the transition to a Polestar 2 an impactful climate action.

We aim to accelerate the shift to the electric age by getting as many as possible behind the wheel of an electric vehicle, and with 100,000 Polestar 2s produced, that shift is well underway.

By expanding the number of countries we’re in, to a total of 27, we have shown that electric mobility is not confined to one location. From the sunny coasts of Australia to the fjords of Norway, whether used for daily commuting or longer trips, the Polestar 2 offers electric performance in all environments.

For us, quantity is never achieved at the cost of quality. We obsess over the details to deliver the leading cars of the electric age. The latest Polestar 2 is as impressive as the first, and all 99,998 in between.
