PEUGEOT e-2008 wins ‘Best Crossover’ at the TopGear Electric Awards

PEUGEOT has added another award to its trophy cabinet, as the e-2008 is named ‘Best Crossover’ at the TopGear Electric Awards 2021. The ‘Best Crossover’ award for the e-2008 is the latest in a series of accolades PEUGEOT has received already this year.

The PEUGEOT e-2008 arrived in 2020 as the second new generation, full electric model launched as part of PEUGEOT’s strategy to provide a fully electrified range by 2025.

The PEUGEOT e-2008 is built with a 136hp electric motor and a 50kWh battery, capable of up to 206 miles of zero emissions range (WLTP) from a single charge. Using 100kW rapid charging, an 80% charge takes as little as 30 minutes.

TopGear named the PEUGEOT e-2008 ‘Best Crossover’ against tough competition in a crowded market, with judges praising the model for its performance, strong, futuristic design and impressive range capabilities.

Jack Rix, Editor at TopGear said: “Should you find yourself in the market for a compact electric crossover, you’ll discover your options are many and growing by the day. Our tip is the PEUGEOT e-2008…there’s sparkle in the design – inside and out – the range and performance over-deliver and it feels futuristic without any Back to the Future Part II naffness.”

Launched in 2020, the TopGear Electric Awards celebrates the growing demand and developments in electrification. The awards praise the best models across the full EV spectrum, from full electric SUVs and superminis to some of the latest hypercars.

The e-2008 features the new PEUGEOT 3D i-Cockpit® with a compact multifunction steering wheel, a configurable 3D head-up display panel and either a seven or 10-inch HD capacitive colour touchscreen.

The model comes fitted with a range of the latest advanced technologies including PEUGEOT Connect SOS and Assistance, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Lane Positioning Assist and Mirror Screen® with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto connectivity. In addition, via the MyPEUGEOT App, battery charging and vehicle cabin pre-conditioning can be managed remotely with e-remote control.

Following the recent government announcement to cut the Plug-in Car Grant to £2,500, PEUGEOT revised its pricing for a selection of e-2008 models to reinforce the brand’s commitment to affordable electrification. A reduction of £450 means Active Premium, Allure and Allure Premium models remain eligible for the new grant, with prices starting from £30,730 following the Plug-in Car grant.

The PEUGEOT e-2008 is available to order from PEUGEOT Retailers and via PEUGEOT Buy Online, where customers can configure and order their vehicle entirely online. PEUGEOT Buy Online reinforces PEUGEOT’s new brand promise of creating quality experiences for customers and ensuring their time is well-spent, by making purchasing a car online simple and convenient. Customers can configure their vehicle, obtain a part exchange valuation, personalise their finance and complete their purchase, all from the comfort of their home.
