T3 Motion Debuts GT3 Plug-in EV

T3 Motion has unveiled the GT3 plug-in electric consumer vehicle.

The proprietary rear-wheel design of the GT3 features a patent-pending, single, wide-stance wheel with two high-performance tires sharing one wheel.

The innovative design of the GT3 features a proprietary (patent pending) single, wide-stance, rear wheel with two high-performance tires sharing one rim. Employing two tire contact surfaces improves traction, stability and handling.

In addition, the low rolling resistance and rounded profile of the rear tires maximize energy efficiency. A multi-link, dual-shock rear suspension in the GT3 is similar to suspension systems found in today’s Formula One race cars.

Due to its three-wheeled design, the GT3 is classified as a motorcycle.

With its aerodynamic styling and proven T3 Motion intelligent power management battery system, the two-passenger GT3 combines driving pleasure and environmental responsibility into a very stylish package with a top speed of 70 mph (113 km/h). The two-passenger GT3 is driven by an AC induction motor powered by an 18 kWh lithium-polymer pack with the expected range per charge is 80-100 miles

The groundbreaking GT3 also features an in-car, integrated “black box” video and data recording system. GT3 will be priced between $35,000 and $42,000.

“The GT3 is the culmination of our years of research, design and development of proven electric vehicle innovations highlighted by the deployment of over 2,000 electric vehicles and over 5,000 lithium-polymer batteries,” said T3 Motion CEO Ki Nam. “This experience has provided the basis for our paradigm thinking and design of the revolutionary patent-pending GT3 rear wheel. We continue to strive to provide safe, stable and efficient electric vehicle solutions.”
