XPENG Reveals Bold UK Plans for 2026 With New EVs and Expanded Lineup

XPENG is wasting no time making its mark in the UK. After a strong market debut in 2025, the Chinese EV maker has now revealed ambitious plans for 2026, signaling a major step forward in both product depth and brand presence for British drivers.

The year ahead will see XPENG significantly broaden its UK lineup with a new generation of smart electric vehicles. The focus is clear: advanced technology, strong performance, striking design, and pricing that keeps these cars within reach of everyday buyers.

A Smarter, Stronger XPENG G6 Arrives in 2026

Leading XPENG’s 2026 push is the heavily updated G6 SUV, scheduled to launch in the first quarter of the year. While it carries the same name as the current model, this is far more than a mild refresh. According to XPENG, the new G6 incorporates more than 20,000 individual upgrades, touching nearly every aspect of the vehicle.

Engineers have refined the chassis, suspension, steering response, battery management and overall noise and vibration control. Interior quality has also been elevated with improved materials and finishes. The goal is a calmer, more composed driving experience—one specifically tuned for European roads and the realities of daily driving in the UK.

The result is an SUV that promises greater comfort, stability and confidence, without losing the sharp tech-focused identity that helped the G6 stand out in the first place.

New Performance Flagship: G6 AWD Black Edition

For drivers looking for more excitement, XPENG is introducing a new Dual-Motor AWD Performance Black Edition of the G6, arriving in the UK for the first time in 2026. This high-performance version uses twin electric motors producing a combined 358kW (480 bhp) and 660Nm of torque.

That power translates into serious pace, with a 0–62mph time of just 4.13 seconds—placing the G6 firmly into performance SUV territory while remaining fully electric.

Competitive Pricing Remains a Key Strategy

Despite the extensive upgrades and next-generation battery technology, XPENG has confirmed that pricing for the new G6 will stay unchanged. The Rear-Wheel Drive Standard Range model will start at £39,990 on the road, while the Long-Range version begins at £44,990. The new AWD Performance Black Edition tops the lineup at £49,990.

This pricing strategy reinforces XPENG’s aim to offer premium technology and performance without pushing into luxury-brand territory.

XPENG X9: A Seven-Seat Electric Flagship

Later in 2026, XPENG will expand into a new segment with the arrival of the XPENG X9. Positioned as a flagship seven-seat electric vehicle, the X9 is designed to appeal to families and business users who need space, comfort and long-range capability—without sacrificing innovation.

Built on XPENG’s advanced 800V SEPA2.0 architecture, the X9 features a futuristic, “starship-inspired” exterior and a flexible, high-tech cabin. Aerodynamic efficiency, connected systems and intelligent features play a central role, while comfort and real-world usability remain top priorities.

Expanding the UK Network and Future Models

XPENG is also planning to grow its UK retail and service footprint in 2026. Expansion will be targeted rather than rapid, with a focus on major cities such as London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh—areas where EV adoption continues to accelerate.

Looking beyond the G6 and X9, XPENG has confirmed that several additional models are already deep in development and will be revealed later in 2026. These upcoming vehicles form part of the brand’s longer-term vision to establish a broad, high-tech electric portfolio across the UK and Europe.
