PowerGo expands its presence in Denmark

Just before the summer holidays, PowerGo announced the installation of over 300 charging points in the Jutland region in Denmark, improving charging opportunities for EV drivers in four municipalities.

Driving an electric vehicle through Jutland has never been easier. International Charge Point Operator (CPO) PowerGo has expanded its charging network across Denmark with the installation of over 300 new charging points in the municipalities of Ikast-Brande, Haderslev, Varde and Vejen.

Frederikke Fog, PowerGo’s Tender Manager: “We are proud that we have improved the charging opportunities for EV drivers in Jutland. It is important that we accelerate the transition to green mobility and contribute to the public charging infrastructure in Denmark. One thing is certain: EV drivers should experience that charging is accessible, affordable and green.”

EV drivers can charge at everyday locations such as schools, daycare centres, and sports facilities, at charging points ranging from 22 to 300 kilowatts (kW). The largest rollout took place in Ikast-Brande, where PowerGo installed 152 charging points at 46 different locations.

Through dynamic pricing, EV drivers benefit from fair and transparent charging prices based on the real-time electricity price. This encourages charging during times when more renewable energy is available, helping to ease pressure on the electricity grid. Charging is cheaper during these periods. The free PowerGo Charge app shows the real-time prices.

As part of its broader commitment to sustainability, PowerGo works with solar energy, generated from solar parks operated by its parent company PowerField.

In Denmark, PowerGo has won 19 tenders to install more than 1,600 public charging points. PowerGo is rolling out its charging network across 16 municipalities and different highway locations from the Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet) to ensure that EV drivers have significantly better charging options. More new locations are in development, as PowerGo continues to expand its presence across the country.
