ICON EV Bronco Restomod: Classic Style Meets Electric Power. Icon unveils limited-edition $499,000 EV Bronco program.

ICON 4×4, the pioneering automotive design firm that started the automotive restomod category, introduced the company’s latest masterpiece – the ICON EV Bronco.

ICON has long been celebrated as the leading innovator in the restomod space, and the legendary automotive builder is taking the concept of pairing vintage design with a modern driving experience to an entirely new level in 2025.

With OEM level integration and engineering, the ICON EV Bronco provides all of the character and feel of a classic Bronco blended with a powerful electric drivetrain and numerous design changes, establishing an entirely new driving experience like nothing else on the road.

“This project was both an incredible honor and a true joy from a vehicle designer’s perspective. Commissioned by a long-time ICON client with whom we’ve built a deep bond of trust, we were given the rare opportunity to push boundaries and go further,” comments ICON4x4 Founder Jonathan Ward. “The level of creative freedom we were afforded is something every custom designer dreams of. Immersing myself in the various art forms and traditions honored in this build was a deeply rewarding experience, making this project truly one-of-a-kind.”

Power and drivability were two primary focal points for the ICON team throughout the development process of the EV Bronco. Sporting more than 500 horsepower and greater than 440 lb-ft of torque, the ICON EV Bronco is capable of exceptional performance from underneath the vintage Bronco shell. Power is delivered to the ground via full-time all-wheel-drive, making the ICON EV Bronco capable of 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. Three different driving modes (Eco, Normal and Sport) add an element of customization depending on driver preference and style. Brembo brakes improve stopping power to mirror the enhanced high-performance capabilities, while fully electro-hydraulic power steering allows for a smooth, enjoyable driving experience.

Incorporating a full-time All Wheel Drive system for both on- and off-road performance along with an Advanced Reiger adjustable Suspension, the ICON EV Bronco is just at home exploring dirt trails as it is on the highway, much like ICON’s combustion Bronco builds. Currie axles with rear LSD and ARB locking front differentials allow the EV Bronco to conquer nearly any terrain with total ease.

The ICON team took great care to ensure only top-of-the-line technology was implemented throughout the EV Bronco build process. Implementing an industry standard 400V architecture, the EV Bronco’s 105kWh battery capacity is good for between 175-200 miles of range. Full thermal management is utilized to keep the battery pack operating in the optimal temperature range at all times. The battery pack is evenly distributed front and rear to retain the perfect balance that ICON Broncos are renowned for.

Charging is another important aspect of the EV’s design process, with an on-board 6.6kW Level 2 charger allowing for easy at-home overnight charging and Level 3 CCS fast charging available via all the leading charging networks. Another important feature is the incorporation of an IP67 Waterproof Standard tested battery enclosure that provides protection from rain or when driving through low-standing water.

The vehicle control unit (VCU) allows for easy adjustment of all modern interior amenities. Included within the EV Bronco’s VCU is completely integrated Battery Management, Power Management, and Vehicle Management for total control of the entire EV drivetrain. The Head Unit with complete system monitoring and control is also available in the center console, along with CarPlay and Android Auto Compatibility for another modern touch that is sleekly added into the interior framework.

Sporting a stylish blue colorway with white leather interior, ICON’s first-ever EV Bronco is dubbed ‘Blue Star’. As the first in a limited edition number of “Special Edition” EV Bronco builds, ICON encourages customization and suggestions from potential clients with custom interior designs available. Multiple top and door configurations are also available, depending on customer preference. Other modern amenities include the traditional ICON gauges subtly incorporated to showcase essential EV stats at a glance. Power windows, power door locks, and AMP Research powered steps along with electric heat and air conditioning further serve to modernize the otherwise vintage-styled Bronco, making it suitable for exceptionally comfortable travel for driver and passengers.

“The ICON EV Bronco, first and foremost, builds on the incredibly evolved and perfected ICON Bronco chassis. Everything our customers have grown to expect and love from ICON is there from the suspension to the brakes to the axles and our time-tested-and-perfected multi-link suspension,” continues Ward. “We have designed an EV drivetrain that seamlessly integrates with our existing award-winning chassis and takes performance to the next level. With the added convenience of our standard DC Fast charging capability of charging from 20-80% in under an hour, the ICON Bronco EV is built to excel out on the open road!”

ICON is now taking orders for 2025 deliveries. This Special Limited Edition is limited to ten collectible examples with an MSRP of $499,000. When purchasing a limited edition EV Bronco from ICON, clients will work directly with ICON founder Jonathan Ward to ensure that no two examples are the same. With special design needs and requests encouraged, ICON is able to ensure that every new EV Bronco will reflect the personality and locale of each client. Each ICON EV is serial sequence numbered on a CNC’ed aluminum plaque fit in the engine bay.
