Vauxhall launches special edition Mokka Electric Griffin, available from £29,495

Vauxhall has launched the special edition Mokka Electric Griffin. The new entry-point to the Mokka Electric line-up features an enhanced specification while offering a saving of £7,115 over Design trim, with prices starting at £29,495 OTR.

Griffin trim enhances the Mokka Electric’s striking design with a contrasting black roof and tinted rear windows alongside 17-inch silver alloy wheels. Customers can also choose from the full Mokka exterior colour palette (including metallic paint) at no extra cost, saving up to £700. Inside, a flat-bottomed leather-effect steering wheel accentuates the sense of style, while parking is made easier with a panoramic rear-view camera and rear sensors.

The Mokka Electric Griffin builds on the already highly-equipped Design trim, offering a suite of connectivity features as standard. Vauxhall’s Multimedia Pure Panel infotainment system provides a seven-inch colour touchscreen, which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a seven-inch digital instrument cluster. Electric models also benefit from Vauxhall Connect, enabling drivers to schedule charging remotely and pre-condition the vehicle’s cabin temperature.

For extra comfort, the Mokka Electric Griffin includes heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, as well as automatic climate control. Keyless start and a retractable boot floor provide even greater convenience.

Completing the offering, Griffin models feature LED headlights, tail lights and daytime running lights with high beam assist, plus an array of driver-assistance tech. This includes lane departure warning with lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, driver drowsiness alert, cruise control and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

The Mokka Electric Griffin is powered by a 50kWh lithium-ion battery providing a range of up to 209 miles (WLTP), paired with an electric motor producing 136PS and 260Nm of torque. Charging the Mokka Electric is quick and straightforward, with a 0-80% charge taking just 30 minutes on a 100kW rapid DC charger. Alternatively, a 0-100% charge will take 7 hours and 30 minutes via a domestic 7kW wallbox.

Thanks to Vauxhall’s new partnership with leading supermarket Tesco, new Vauxhall electric vehicle customers also benefit from one year’s free charging credit at stores across the country. In addition, through its Electric Streets of Britain campaign, Vauxhall has partnered with leading charging point operators char.gy, Connected Kerb and SureCharge to support local councils across the country to accelerate the installation of on-street residential charging.

As part of Vauxhall’s efforts to simplify going electric, the Mokka Electric Griffin is available with the brand’s Plug & Go offer, which includes a battery warranty for eight years/100,000 miles and three years of roadside assistance as standard for added peace of mind. All new Vauxhall electrified vehicle customers also receive an Octopus Electroverse card, which gives access to over 500,000 public chargers from different networks across the UK and Europe via a single account.

Orders for the limited edition Mokka Electric Griffin will open on 17th April, with first deliveries from June. The reveal of the Mokka Electric Griffin closely follows the Corsa Electric YES Edition, available from £26,895, with both models making Vauxhall’s electric range more accessible.
