Ford’s Mustang Mach-E Gets Towing Capacity Boost

The Ford Mustang Mach-E’s approved braked towing capacity has now been increased to 1,000 kg on extended range models in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive – enough to allow customers to tow a typical small or average-sized fibreglass fishing boat.

The Mustang Mach-E also received updates to reduce the charging time between 80-90 per cent capacity from 52 minutes to 15 minutes, a recalibration of the one-pedal driving feature for even smoother performance at lower speeds and enhancements to driver comfort.

“The towing upgrade for Mustang Mach-E is one of a number of free updates we’re continuing to make in hardware and software or through homologation  to give owners the best experience possible,” said This Woelpern, general manager, Imports, Ford of Europe. “With towing in particular, it was a great example of us responding to customer queries, where we checked the feasibility of an increase and were able to deliver what they wanted.”

Now on sale in Europe for over one year, the Mustang Mach-E continues to win fans. Around 88 per cent of customers to-date have moved from other car brands to Ford to experience the fun-to-drive characteristics, bold styling and driving range of the vehicle.

Existing owners can also benefit from many of the recent upgrades through software or homologation updates, with future over-the-air updates planned to keep the Mustang Mach-E continuously improving.
