BYD and Nexport Announce Agreement for Passenger Electric Vehicles Development

BYD Auto and Nexport Pty Ltd. signed a long term agreement to partner in the R&D and distribution of the next generation of BYD electric passenger vehicles in Australia and New Zealand.

Based on this cooperation, BYD and Nexport each will make engineering and capital investment towards the R&D of the electric vehicles. It will combine the strengths of both companies to deliver the ideal products for customer needs, primarily aimed at delivering high quality electric vehicles at a price parity point to internal combustion engine vehicles.

It plans to initially launch pre-sales of vehicles in the Australian and New Zealand markets in July 2021.

BYD and Nexport hold a shared vision to build healthier communities through the adaption of new energy passenger vehicles and this agreement heralds in a new era of BYD venturing outside China with their passenger car range, with a trusted strategic partner.
