Pod Point named exclusive charge point supplier for Groupe PSA in UK

Groupe PSA has announced Pod Point as its exclusive charge point supplier for its Peugeot, Citroën, DS Automobiles and Vauxhall brands in the UK. The new two-year partnership is a major advance in the French group’s electrification strategy, by assisting customers with the infrastructure to move to electric.

Pod Point is the UK’s largest independent provider of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and are a fully authorised by OLEV to install charge points under the Workplace Charging Scheme and the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme.

The charge point supplier will also work with Groupe PSA’s leasing arm, Free2Move Lease, as the preferred charging provider, supporting fleet customers as they move towards an electric future.

As part of the UK partnership, Groupe PSA are offering the first retail customers for the full-electric new Vauxhall Corsa-e, the all-new Peugeot e-208 and the DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE a free home charge Pod Point and standard installation. All models are already available to order as well as the plugin-hybrid Peugeot 3008 SUV HYBRID and HYBRID4, Peugeot 508 & 508 SW HYBRID, DS 7 CROSSBACK E-TENSE and Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid4 with commercial launches planned for early 2020.

Groupe PSA aims to be one of the key European players in electrified mobility and every new model launched from 2019 onwards will have either a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or full-electric variant. Additionally, by 2025 every model sold by the group will have an electrified version providing consumers with the power of choice, embracing the ‘choose your vehicle, choose your powertrain’ philosophy.

Helen Lees, Head of Electric Vehicles & Connected Services for Groupe PSA UK, commented: “We are delighted to have partnered with Pod Point as our exclusive charge point provider across Peugeot, Citroën, DS Automobiles and Vauxhall. Groupe PSA is committed to social responsibility and our electrification strategy is at the heart of that. Mobilising our customers is a key element of our strategy, so we want to make it easy for our customers to access charging solutions tailored to their needs. We have seen already that customers have been impressed with the reliability and customer service from Pod Point and we look forward to working together.”

Pricing for the all-new Peugeot e-208 starts at £25,050, the new Vauxhall Corsa-e starts at £27,165 and the DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE starts at £32,350 after the government’s plug-in car grant (PICG). All vehicles come with a 50kWh battery capable of a range of over 200 miles on a single charge.
