All major automakers are posting September sales numbers for plug-in electric vehicles.

 | Nissan LEAF Sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF totaled 1,316 units, up 5.5% compared to September of 2015 when Nissan sold 1,247 LEAF EV’s. In terms of year-to-date results in 2016, sales of the Nissan LEAF now stand at 9,238, which is down by 32.2% compared with 2015 when 13,630 were sold. Nissan introduced the 2016 all-electric LEAF with an available 30 kWh battery that provides an EPA-estimated range of 107 miles – a 27-percent increase over the previous 24 kWH battery. |
 | Chevrolet Volt Chevrolet Volt sold 2,31 units last month, up 114 percent compared to September of 2015 when Chevy sold 949 Volts. Overall for the year, 16,326 Chevrolet Volt plug-ins have been sold, which is up by 76.2% compared to 2015 when 9,264 units were sold. Chevrolet Volt sales surpassed 100,000 units in the United States in late July. |
 | Toyota Prius Plug-in Prius Plug-in Hybrid sold just 4 units last month. Previously in August, July, June, May, April, March and February, Toyota sold 2, 4, 11, 4, 4, 7 and 6 Prius Plug-ins respectively. Last year, sales of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid were at 4,191. The next generation Prius Prime PHV will come in the second half of 2016 as a 2017 model car. |
 | Ford C-Max Energi Ford C-MAX Energi sold 689 units in August. Previously in August, Ford sold 707 C-MAX Energi plug-ins. Overall for the year, 5,376 C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrids have been sold. |
 | Ford Fusion Energi Ford Fusion Energi finished last month with 1,652 deliveries, after selling 1,422 units in August and 1,341 units in July. In terms of year-to-date results in 2016, sales of the Ford Fusion Energi now stand at 11,650. |
 | Cadillac ELR GM sold 6 Cadillac ELRs last month. In terms of year-to-date, sales of the Cadillac ELR now stand at 523. General Motors has pulled the plug on the Cadillac ELR after years of dismal sales. Cadillac only managed to sell 1,354 units of the ELR in 2014, while only 1,024 were delivered during last year. |
 | Porsche Panamera S-E Hybrid Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrids finished last month with 28 deliveries. Previously in August and July, Panamera S E-Hybrid sold 59 and 21 units respectively. Overall for the year, 264 Panamera S E-Hybrids have been sold. |
 | Porsche Cayenne S e-Hybrid Porsche sold 131 Cayenne S E-Hybrid SUVs last month, after selling 197 units in August. In terms of year-to-date results in 2016, sales of the Cayenne S E-Hybrids now stand at 1,642. |

 | BMW X5 xDrive40e The BMW X5 xDrive40e sold 482 units, after selling 876 plug-in SUVs in August and 649 in July. Overall for the year, 4,584 BMW X5 xDrive40e SUVs have been sold. With a total system output of 230 kW/313 hp generated by a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine and a synchronous electric motor, the BMW X5 xDrive40e achieves a combined fuel consumption of 69 – 71 mpg. |
 | Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive finished last month with 51 deliveries, after selling 57 units in August and 50 units in July. Overall for the year, 468 B-Class Electric Drive have been sold. The B-Class Electric Drive starts from $41,450 and has an all-electric range of 87 miles. For an extra $600, one can purchase the extended range package which allows the driver go 104 miles. |
 | Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-in Hybrid Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-in Hybrid sold 41 unit last month. Overall for the year, 253 S550 Plug-in Hybrids have been sold. The S550 Plug-in Hybrid offers a system output of 436 hp and 479 lb-ft torque, sprints from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.2 seconds and can drive up to 20 miles purely electrically. |
 | Volkswagen e-Golf Volkswagen e-Golf sold 529 units last month, up 54.2 percent compared to September of 2015 when Volkswagen sold 343 e-Golf EVs. Overall for the year, 2,782 Volkswagen e-Golfs have been sold, which is up by 8.9% compared to 2015 when 2,555 units were sold. |
 | Audi A3 Sportback e-tron Audi A3 Sportback e-tron sold 312 units during the month, after selling 346 units in August. In terms of year-to-date, sales of the A3 Sportback e-tron now stand at 2,949. The 2017 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron is priced at $38,900, and purchasing customers may qualify for applicable state and federal incentives and tax credits. |
 | Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV Volvo XC90 PHEV sold 148 units during the month, after selling 176 units in August and 178 units in July. Overall for the year, 1,508 XC90 PHEV SUVs have been sold. The MSRP of the Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV is $68,100 before incentives.  | Hyundai Sonata PHEV Hyundai Sonata plug-in hybrid sold 260 units during the month. Previously in August, Sonata PHEV sold 235 units. Overall for the year, 2,230 Sonata plug-in hybrids have been sold, Hyundai Sonata PHEV is priced from $34,600 before incentives. |
 | Kia Soul EV Kia Soul EV sold 217 units last month, after selling 153 units in August. Overall for the year, 1,162 Soul EVs have been sold. Offered in two trims, Base and + (Plus), the 2015 Kia Soul EV MSRP is $33,700 (not including federal tax rebate of $7,500) for the Base trim. |
 | Mercedes-Benz GLE 550e Mercedes-Benz GLE 550e sold 26units in its second month on the market. Previously in August and July, the GLE 550e sold 24 and 30 units respectively. GLE 550e is equipped with V6 gas engine and a seven-speed automatic transmission, combined with an electric motor for total system power of 436 hp, 479 ft lbs of torque. The 8.8 kWh battery pack stores enough juice to travel up to 30 km (19 miles) on electric power. |

 | Mitsubishi i Mitsubishi sold 17 i-MiEV electric car in July, after selling 25 units in August and 20 units in July. Overal for the year, 82 iMiEVs have been sold. Last year, 115 i-MiEV EVs have been sold. The 2016 Mitsubishi i-MiEV will arrive at Mitsubishi dealers across the United States in late March 2015. With a starting MSRP of only $22,995, the 2016 i-MiEV is the most affordably-priced electric vehicle available in America today, and after factoring in the Federal tax credit of $7,500, the net starting MSRP is reduced to $15,495. |
 | Toyota Mirai Toyota sold 69 Mirai fuel-cell electric sedans last month, after selling 371 units in August. Overall for the year, 710 Mirai FCVs have been sold. The Mirai is priced MSRP $57,500 plus an $835 destination fee. With combined state and federal incentives of $13,000 available to many customers, the purchase price could potentially fall to under $45,000. |
