Swiss automotive visionary Frank M. Rinderknecht will present the Rinspeed BamBoo concept car at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March.
Rinspeed boss says every name has a meaning and in this case it’s because many of the interior features are made from actual bamboo fibers.
Rinspeed says the BamBoo concept is meant to be a grown-up golf cart; and its design language “pushes the reset button” and “clears the mind for a new way of thinking”.
The front-wheel drive vehicle is driven by an electric motor providing a maximum power output of 54kW and 140Nm of torque at 4500 rpm.
The BamBoo can accelerate from 0–50 km/h (31 mph) in 4.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) and its lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery pack provides a range of around 105 km (65 miles) at 90 km/h.
The 2011 Geneva Motor Show takes place from March 3 through March 13.[wzslider height=”400″ lightbox=”true”]
