Jeep Grand Cherokee AMP Plans Jeep Grand Cherokee EV for Detroit Auto ShowAMP Holding Inc., an electric vehicle company specializing in electric SUVs, will reveal a Jeep Grand Cherokee EV at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show next month.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee EV will showcase AMP’s proprietary technology for SUVs and full-sized vehicles.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee EV promises to offer a driving range of up to 100 miles (160 km) and keeps the vehicle’s SUV spirit.

The addition of the AMP Jeep Grand Cherokee EV complements company’s Mercedes M-Class EV offering. EV buyers will now have two great SUV choices in the retail market, and the Jeep EV also provides an attractive entry for companies that are adding “green” vehicles to their fleets.

“Beginning with a world class vehicle, and adding AMP’s electrification results in an EV that offers everything SUV customers expect: smooth powerful performance, zero emissions and up to a 100-mile range,” said AMP’s CEO, Jim Taylor.

AMP said that it will give more details of the Jeep Grand Cherokee EV at the Detroit Auto Show, where AMP will announce pricing, initial delivery dates and market distribution.
