BMW’s i3 electric car has been spotted rolling silently down Wacker Drive in Chicago.
The BMW i3 has been specifically developed for use in an urban environment. It features a dynamic rear-mounted 125 kW (170hp) electric motor powered by lithium-ion batteries.
The BMW i3 does the 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in less than eight seconds and has a range of approximately 150 kilometers (93 miles).
The video below was captured by YouTube user jprothe. It is thought the i3 electric was being filmed for a commercial or some sort of other promotional video.
BMW is planning to take its new ‘i’sub-brand public in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show where the diminutive i3 electric car and more sporting two-plus-two i8 plug-in hybrid sports car will be revealed in concept guise for the first time.
