AMP Electric Mercedes M s AMP Delivers First Electric Mercedes Benz ML 350 to Northern Lights EnergyAMP Electric Vehicles, an EV conversion company, delivered the first all-electric Mercedes Benz ML 350 to Gisli Gislason, Chairman and CEO of Northern Lights Energy at a press conference at their Cincinnati.

The electric Mercedes-Benz ML 350 is the first of 1,000 all-electric SUVs be produced in a five-year contract between the two companies.

The initial deliveries include a Chevrolet Equinox and Mercedes Benz ML electric SUVs.

“The demand for SUVs is very high in Iceland at approximately 35% of new vehicle sales,” said James Taylor, CEO AMP. “Our AMP Electric Mercedes ML SUV fits NLE and Iceland’s needs perfectly. The vehicle comfortably fits five people, and offers the efficient performance of 100 miles per charge. We are very pleased to have presented the first vehicle, and look forward to supplying the rest of this 1,000 vehicle agreement.”

Most of Iceland’s electricity is from cheaper hydro power and geothermal sources, making it more cost-effective than imported gasoline.
