BamBoo Rinspeed BamBoo Concept–First Official DetailsSwiss automotive visionary Frank M. Rinderknecht will present the Rinspeed BamBoo concept car at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March.

Rinspeed boss says every name has a meaning and in this case it’s because many of the interior features are made from actual bamboo fibers.

Rinspeed says the BamBoo concept is meant to be a grown-up golf cart; and its design language “pushes the reset button” and “clears the mind for a new way of thinking”.

The front-wheel drive vehicle is driven by an electric motor providing a maximum power output of 54kW and 140Nm of torque at 4500 rpm.

The BamBoo can accelerate from 0–50 km/h (31 mph) in 4.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) and its lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery pack provides a range of around 105 km (65 miles) at 90 km/h.

The 2011 Geneva Motor Show takes place from March 3 through March 13.
