Nissan Leaf1 Renault Nissan Partners with the Wellington City Council on Zero Emission VehiclesThe Renault-Nissan Alliance and the city of Wellington in New Zealand have formed a partnership to explore the development of a Zero Emission Vehicles program.

The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under which a working team of representatives from the City Council and Nissan will identify potential areas of co-operation in promoting the use of zero emission vehicles in the city.

The memorandum was signed in Japan following Mayor of Wellington, Kerry Prendergast’s test drive of the Nissan LEAF electric vehicle accompanied by Nissan Motor Company’s Corporate Vice President, Zero Emissions Business Unit, Hideaki Watanabe.

The Alliance has formed partnerships with more than 60 governments, cities and other organizations around the world, including Japan, USA, Europe, Asia and Australia, to advance the deployment of EVs worldwide.
